나는 삶을 포착하겠다고, 즉 살아가는 행위 속에서의 삶을 간직하겠다고 마음을 먹고는 숨막히는 듯한 느낌을 맛보며 언제라도 뛰어들 수 있는 채비를 갖추고 온종일 거리를 헤매고 다녔다. 무엇보다도 나는 내 눈 앞에서 저절로 벌어지고 있는 어떤 상황의 진수 모두를 단 한 장의 사진의 테두리 속에 잡아둘 수 있기를 간절히 원했다.
